What is a Dasha?
A dasha is a planetary time-period in Vedic astrology. Your life is divided into stretches ruled by different planets, and the ruling planet colours what happens during that time. The most common system is Vimshottari Dasha.
How it works
Each planet rules you for a set number of years in a fixed order. The big period is the Mahadasha; inside it are smaller periods called Antardasha.
Why it matters
Dashas are how astrologers talk about timing - when a certain area of life (career, marriage, money) is likely to be active.
